Alexandria (4) lost to Bridgewater (3) by a score of 12-2. On
Saturday afternoon Alexandria (4) defeated Wise (13) 10-0 and beat
York County (7) on Sunday by a score of 8-6. In the single-elimination championship
series Alexandria (4) beat Upper Loudon American (16) 5-2 on Monday. On Tuesday Alexandria (4)
lost to Bridgewater (3) in a semi-final game by 10-8, and were therefore eliminated from the tournament.
SYA East (10) defeated Bridgewater (3) for the championship.

2-1. On Saturday McLean American (4) recorded a first loss in the
double-elimination tournament by a score of 14-2 against Chantilly
American (10). Sunday McLean American (4) defeated Abingdon (1) 5-2
and then lost to Lebanon (11) by a score of 4-2. McLean American (4)
was eliminated from the tournament.

Vienna American (4) is in Pool 1 with Danville (2), SYA East (10), and Upper
Loudon National (16).
Vienna American (4) defeated Danville (2) 4-2 on Friday while SYA East
(10) was defeating Upper Loudon (16) by the same score. In the
second day (Saturday) of Pool 1 play Vienna American (4) defeated SYA East
(10), 10-8 and Upper Loudon (16) defeated Danville (2), 18-8. Sunday
Vienna American (4) defeated Upper Loudon (16) with a score of 11-7. Vienna American (4)
moved forward into the single-elimination series with other pool winners and runners up.
Monday at 10:00 AM Vienna American (4) came back to defeat Warwick American (7) with a score
of 11-10. Vienna American lost in a semi-final game on Tuesday to SYA East (10) by a score of 10-6.
Thus, Vienna American (4) was eliminated from the tournament. In the other
semi-final Tuckahoe American (5) beat Central Accomack (8) by a score of 15-1. Tuckahoe (5) defeated SYA East (10)
7-6 to win the Virginia State Majors championship and advance to the
Southeast Regional Tournament at St Petersburg, Florida, beginning August
2.

Alexandria (4) was defeated on Friday by Essex County (15) with a score
of 9-3. On Saturday morning Alexandria (4) defeated Fort Hunt (9),
14-4 and in the afternoon Alexandria (4) defeated Honaker (11) by a score
of 21-6. Sunday Alexandria (4) beat Big Stone Gap (13) with a
score of 15-13 in the morning game, but lost to Virginia Beach (8) in the
afternoon game by a score of 8-6. Alexandria was eliminated from the
tournament with this second loss. The tournament was won by Atlee (5) over
Virginia Beach (8) in the championship game.

McLean (4) defeated Clintwood (13) on Friday by a score of 13-4 and beat Coles (10)
18-0 on
Saturday. Sunday McLean (4) won over Bennett's Creek (6) 15-10 to
claim 1st in Pool A. On Monday, Honaker (11) defeated Elkton (3) 2-1 in the morning. In the
afternoon, McLean (4) defeated Honaker (11) by a score of 11-3, thereby winning the
state championship.

Great Falls (4) defeated Essex County (15) by a score of 14-5 on Friday.
Saturday afternoon Great Falls (4) lost to Washington County (1) by a score of
15-10 and won over Luray (3) on Sunday with a score of 16-5. Monday
morning Great Falls (4) beat Essex County (15) by 10-0 to advance to the
final game in the losers' bracket against Washington County (1) in the
afternoon. Great Falls (4) lost to Washington County (1) by a score
of 15-5 to be eliminated from the tournament. In the championship game
Mechanicsville (5) defeated Washington County (1) 13-3.

McLean (4) opened against Elkton (3) on Friday and lost 6-1. On
Sunday, McLean (4) was defeated by Tuckahoe (5) by a score of 8-4 and thus
was eliminated in this double elimination tournament. This
tournament was won by Honaker (11), which came out of the losers' bracket
and defeated Elkton (3) twice.
